Powersports oil filters help to remove contaminants from your ATVs and motorbikes that can accumulate over time as the oil keeps the engine clean.

How the oil filter works

There is a metal can with a sealing gasket outside of the filter that holds it tightly against the engine’s mating surface. The can’s base plate holds the gasket and pierces around the area inside the gasket. Make a central hole that will allow mixing with the oil filter assembly on the engine block. There is a filter material inside the can, which is often made from synthetic fiber.

The engine’s oil enters from the holes in the perimeter of the base plate and it is the pump then that moves the oil directly to the filter. It pushes away the impure oil through the filter media and backs through the central hole from where it re-enters the engine.

Picking the right oil filter

Picking the right oil filter for your motorbike is of utmost importance. Though all the oil filters might look similar, it is the difference in the gasket size and threads that determine if the particular filter will work right for your vehicle. The best way to find out the right one is by referencing parts catalog or going through your owners’ manual.

Using the wrong Powersports oil filter can cause oil leakage out of the engine, or an ill-fitting filter might just fall off. Either of these scenarios can lead to serious engine damage.

In a nutshell, before buying your Pioneer Powersports, research the features of the oil filter and find out if it suits your ATV. Buy the one that best fits your needs.

Top 4 Must-Have UTV Accessories

Owning a UTV is an incredible thing as it opens a lot of possibilities for both work & play. The vehicles make incredible platforms to personalize them as per your personal needs & tastes. However, to make the most of your UTV riding experience you need to take a look at these below-mentioned accessories.

Bed storage pack:

The best thing about UTVs is that they’re large enough to pack along a wide range of things that just are not realistic on a motorcycle. The majority of UTVs include beds that are perfect for carrying gears. This is a great feature, but you have to think about how it is going to remain there through every bump. Also, you have to think about safeguarding it from water or dirt.

A storage pack that fits in the bed of your machine resolves these issues. Once it is installed, it is going to keep your gear in place. Also, it’ll safeguard your gear from the elements. Some bed storage pack even comes with compartments that make it easy to organize your gear for easy access later.

Windshield:

A windshield is a really popular accessory among a large chunk of UTV owners. It’s certainly a useful accessory to keep dust and rain away and keep the rider a bit warmer in the winter months.

Skid plate:

If you are into moderate-to-intense rock crawling or trail riding, a skip plate is worth considering. Whether you encounter a large hurdle on the trail or potholes, you will be happy you have a full skid plate.

No doubt your UTV comes pre-equipped with a skid plate. But this is a part that you must upgrade instantly. Don’t wait for it to get ruined prior to replacing it.

Roof:

Wide open-air – that is what you will get in a new UTV. There is something uplifting when you are out on the trail. However, when it starts to rain you will need something over your head. Even the scorching sun can make things uncomfortable.

Fortunately, by installing a roof on your UTV, you get protection from the outdoor elements. Also, it adds a bit of elegance to your UTV.

Just with other accessories, there’re many options available in terms of UTV roof. Fabric roofs are a cost-effective way to add protection on top of your head. You can also get harder, more durable roofs available in aluminum or plastic.
